How to Get Digital Emirates ID in 4 Steps

The Emirates ID is the most important document — after the passport — that you must have with you. And seeing as to how significant social distancing and minimum contact norms have become in 2020, the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship (ICA) decided to roll out the first phase of issuing the digital version of the Emirates ID.

How to get the Digital Version of Emirates ID

Step 1: Download the ICA UAE Smart app and sign in

The ICA UAE Smart app is available both for Apple and Android devices. You will have to download the app on your smartphone and register for an account. Ensure that you have your Emirates ID and Passport with you before you begin.

You also would need to submit your personal email address and confirm the same.

Step 2: Log in
Use your email address and password to log in to the dashboard.

Step 3: Tap on ‘Emirates ID’
The Emirates ID section houses all various services that relate to your Emirates ID. Not only does it display your Emirates ID, but also others that are under your sponsorship.

The softcopy of the Emirates ID displayed is the facsimile of your physical Emirates ID Card. You can proceed to download or share the pdf copy of the displayed ID.

Step 4: Scan the QR Code
You will also get a QR Code that can be scanned by any department or organization to display your Emirates ID details.
