Documents to be Submitted for Beneficial Owner Status:

1. Name
2. Gender
3. Passport Number
4. Date of Birth
5. Residence Address
6. Nationality
7. Mobile Number
8. Emirates ID

The acknowledgement of the form must be submitted by the company’s legal representative. In most cases, the legal representative is the director of the company.

How to Submit Beneficial Owner Acknowledgement

• Through Outsourced Service Centers

Before the issuance of the payment voucher for any procedure related to a specific license, a text message is sent to the customer. The text message contains a link that directs the customer to enter the Beneficial Owner data of the license.

You may also register for Beneficial Owner data through one of the service centers listed here without having to initiate a new procedure on your license. You can request the service from the concerned person at the service center (check out the list of all the service centres here). After that, you will receive a link on your mobile number that will request for the Beneficial Owner Data of the license.

• Through License Renewal via Text Message to 6969

When you request for license renewal by sending a text message to 6969, you will receive a message that will contain the link to fill up Beneficial Owner data. Once your identity is captured by the system, the license renewal procedure will resume and you will receive the payment voucher link.

• Through Dubai Economy’s eServices

One may access Dubai Economy’s eServices through https://eservices.dubaided.gov.ae/. Before you commence the process, you will be required to register, which can be done with the same link.

When submitting your Beneficial Owner details through the above portal, you are not required to initiate a new procedure on your existing license. All you have to do is log in to https://eservices.dubaided.gov.ae/BeneficiaryOwner, select your required license, and then choose to add or modify your Beneficial Owner details. You will then be transferred to another page wherein you can enter your details and submit.

• Through DED Business App

The procedure for submitting Beneficial Owner details through the DED Business App is similar to that of submitting the details through outsourced service centers. A text message containing the link will be sent before the issuance of payment voucher.

Modify Beneficial Owner Data

You can request the service from the concerned person at the service center. After that, you will receive a link on your mobile number that modify the Beneficial Owner Data of the license.

Through Dubai Economy’s eServices

All you have to do is log in to https://eservices.dubaided.gov.ae/BeneficiaryOwner, select your required license, and then choose to add or modify your Beneficial Owner details.

Snippets about Beneficial Owner Data in Dubai

• The acknowledgement must be submitted only by the business’s legal representative, like the director or the business owner.
• Until the Beneficial Owner is identified, the legal person partner, and other partners and shareholders of the business are subject to the registration in the Beneficial Owner data.
• It is mandatory for all companies in the UAE, including free zone companies, to register for Beneficial Owner data. The exception is reserved only for public shareholding companies and companies owned 100% by federal or local government entities.
• The Beneficial Owner must be registered for all types of activities, including professional, commercial, industrial, tourism, etc.
• In addition to the above, the Beneficial Owner must also be registered in all types of licenses.
• Regardless of the legal business structure, all businesspersons holding the commercial license must be registered with the Commercial Registry of DED.
• It is necessary to register as the Beneficial Owner even if they’re a non-resident of the UAE and/or have not entered the country previously.
• It is not required for the Beneficial Owner to own or control shares in the company or contribute to the capital of the company. They can be a Natural Person who occupy a senior position or occupy a position that entails taking up managerial decisions in the case that the Beneficial Owner cannot be identified.
• If you choose to amend or modify the Beneficial Owner data, you can do so via the electronic fields issued by the concerned authority.
• It is also possible to change or replace the Beneficial Owner of the license.
• There is no specified legal age for submitting your Beneficial Owner data.
• It is not possible for the Beneficial Owner to be appointed for the main license while another Beneficial Owner be appointed for the company’s branches. The Beneficial Owner is the person that controls a conglomerate of companies or at least 25% of the company.
• The Beneficial Owner controls both the company’s foreign branches and also in the country of origin.
